This presentation will provide an overview of the Tennessee Suicide Prevention Network, the state of public health efforts concerning suicide prevention in our State, and how we can work together as a community to prevent suicide. The TSPN model will be discussed as well as various data concerning the problem in our state.
A Tennessee native, the suicide death of Perley’s Father in 2011 motivated her involvement with suicide prevention. She is an alumna of the University of Alabama at Birmingham, where she obtained a Master’s in Public Health with a primary focus on health behavior and this approach to suicide prevention. Preceding her Master’s degree, Perley studied at Emory University. She is a certified QPR, Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training, safeTalk, and Youth Mental Health First Aid instructor.
