“Pain is not only a physical manifestation, but also an emotional, cognitive, and learned experience in reaction to emotional and physical trauma. When providing care, I strive to initiate and sustain a dialogue about pain that eradicates stigma, feelings of hopelessness/helplessness, and illness misinformation that often interferes with rehabilitation and healing. Helping people with chronic pain find meaning in the midst of loss and their physically, emotionally, and mentally stressing condition is truly rewarding. My mission is to engender a commitment to healing, find hope for the future, and improve social connectivity. I’d be honored to help you transform from a pain sufferer into a pain warrior.” – Renee Hill, PsyD

Dr. Renee Hill received her doctorate in psychology from Nova Southeastern University, and is a licensed clinical psychologist with an emphasis in health psychology. She completed her health/medical psychology internship and post-doctoral residency at Interventional Pain and Osher Center for Integrative Medicine at Vanderbilt University Medical Center and at the Nashville and Murfreesboro VA hospitals. She has experience with children, adults, and the geriatric population conducting psychological, surgical, and neuropsychological evaluations and providing psychotherapy to address various medical and mental health related concerns. Dr. Hill is well versed in a wide range of therapeutic techniques, but most commonly uses Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy to address issues related to mood, anxiety, substance use/abuse, trauma, adjustment, and somatic disturbances.

In addition to providing a full range of psychological services, Dr. Hill has a passion for working with clients who are experiencing chronic pain and other medical conditions that impact quality of life. She has experience providing pain management services for people with Complex Regional Pain Syndrome, Fibromyalgia, autoimmune disorders, low back pain, and other chronic/acute medical conditions accompanied by prolonged pain and decreased functionality. As a holistic psychotherapist, she helps empower her clients to embrace life more fully in the midst of medical conditions that often decrease quality of life, activity levels, and interfere with one’s relationship with self (depression and anxiety) and others.
