Personal Statement

I am a DBT trained, Trauma-informed  LCSW. I use a combination of Relational, Cognitive Behavioral, and Narrative therapy and am also trained in EMDR. I attended school and trained in Boston and moved back to Nashville, where I am from, originally several years ago. I specialize in seeing adults and adolescents in individual and group therapy for Depression, PTSD, Dissociation, Anxiety, interpersonal issues, Grief, and issues of self-esteem. I have many years experience in administration, running mental health clinics and providing supervision for licensure and seasoned clinicians alike. I have multiple years training and experience working with men and women with a trauma history and also enjoy working with adolescent boys and girls from ages 13+.

I have experience as a trainer and worked throughout the state of Tennessee as a mental health trainer through Vanderbilt in the past.

I am currently working at a group private practice in Midtown Nashville, called the Evelyn Frye Center, where I accept most insurances and EAP referrals and also have a Private Practice in Midtown, where I see individuals for therapy   and see clinicians for supervision at 1900 Church Street. I am also a full-time Assistant Professor of Practice at the University of Tennessee School of Social Work-Nashville campus and in the past worked as an adjunct professor & clinical liaison at UTK-Nashville.

I enjoy working with people in therapy, in supervision, and as a professor and am always honored to be a part of someone's journey. I also enjoy public speaking and training, most recently speaking to parents about depression, anxiety, and suicidality. In my work at UT, I am developing an online Postgraduate Trauma Certificate for anyone with a Masters degree or higher in the human service fields. Please contact me with any questions. I'd be happy to talk to you or to refer you to someone else, who I think may be a good fit.
